Welcome to the Building Safety Department!  Our department staff addresses your safety in the built environment by providing residential and commercial plan review and inspections associated with building permits.

We work with contractors (Oregon Construction Contractors Board: Guide to Hiring a Contractor) and home owners to ensure that their project meets or exceeds required building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing code requirements.

What is the Ordinance Compliance Program?  The Ordinance Compliance Program was developed to address blighted properties throughout Medford.  It is a proactive program that contributes to maintaining public safety by mitigating risks associated with vacant and/or dangerous buildings. The goal is to transform blighted properties into usable spaces to boost the local economy and to revitalize neighborhoods by addressing deteriorating buildings.  This should also reduce crime, improve property values, and enhance community aesthetics, community well-being, safety, and economic opportunities. The program is committed to working with property owners to seek voluntary compliance.

For questions and or concerns, please contact the Ordinance Compliance Program at 541-774-2356 or CodeEnforcement@cityofmedford.org.
