The Commission is authorized to adopt rules and regulations necessary to carry out the duties and powers that it has under the City Charter and the Medford Code. The Commission has the full power and authority to maintain, operate, repair and extend, and other powers necessary to fully manage and operate the water system as is necessary for the needs of the city. Authorities and duties are more specifically outlined in the Medford City Charter. The Board of Water Commissioners is required to make full reports to the City Council of the business transacted by it and of the condition of its funds once every three months, and also makes special reports to the City Council on matters relating to the water system when called for by the City Council.

Meetings are typically held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 12:30pm in the Prescott Room of the Medford Police Station, located at 219 S. Ivy Street.
