Medford Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department is a nationally accredited agency that has stewarded the City's park system and community recreation services since 1957.

The Department maintains over 2,500 acres of civic parkland, special-use areas, beautification areas and public-right-of-ways and is the largest provider of community recreation programs and services in the Rogue Valley.

We are the largest provider of community recreation programs and services in the Rogue Valley and offer a wide range of classes, programs, special events, and sports leagues for all ages.

Most of the low-cost, high-quality recreation services are delivered at two of the most-visited park and recreation facilities outside of the Portland metro area: the Santo Community Center (Medford's only municipal community center) and U.S. Cellular Community Park (USCCP), a 132-acre, 15-field world-class sports park.

The City of Medford offers a generous blend of structured and non-structured volunteer opportunities.  The City is comprised of multiple departments including: City Administration, Parks, Recreation and Facilities, Medford Police, Medford Fire, Public Works, and Planning all of which oversee a variety of functions that need volunteer help. There is a a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for citizen involvement in the delivery of community services and maintenance of City land and facilities.  The City has multiple choices for citizens, schools, corporations and civic organizations to reinvest their gift of time and talents back to the community. Whether it's a one day project or ongoing support, we recognize your time is a tremendous investment to the City of Medford! Below is a list of identified opportunities:

The Medford Parks and Recreation Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), was established in 2005. The Foundation raises funds, fosters partnerships, and advocates in support of specific projects and activities that benefit our City parks and recreation programs. The Foundation is funded primarily through support by individuals, groups and businesses who are committed to the preservation and expansion of youth and adult programs as well as the City park and trail system.
