Dachshunds will dash for glory at Medford Parks and Recreation’s first-ever “Doxin-Dash,” a free event Friday, September 19.

The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Walkabout Brewing Company, 921 Mason Way.

While the event name pays tribute to dachshunds, all well-behaved dogs are welcome.

“After seeing how much joy Corgi-Con brought to the community, we thought, why stop there?” said Recreation Supervisor Sandi Sherman. “The first-ever Doxin-Dash at Walkabout Brewing is our way of spreading the fun to another lovable breed, and we can’t wait to see if it becomes as big a hit as Corgi-Con.”

The evening will include a costume contest and time to meet new two- and four-legged friends. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Walkabout Brewing and local food trucks.

Attendees will receive a pint glass, dog treats, and a ball while supplies last. Event-themed stickers will be sold for $1, and donations will be accepted to support future community events.
