City Introduces Creekside Quarter Concept and Potential Stadium

The City of Medford is sharing an early-stage concept known as Creekside Quarter, a privately initiated vision for potential redevelopment in downtown Medford.
The concept includes a mix of land uses—such as a hotel, urban residential infill, multistory retail and office space, an elevated parking structure, a conference center, and a multi-purpose outdoor sports and event stadium. It also features proposed Bear Creek restoration and public park revitalization.
This conceptual plan reflects the City Council’s long-standing interest in supporting downtown as a vibrant engine for economic growth. It builds on past planning efforts, including the 2024 Conference Center Feasibility Study, and reflects growing interest from private-sector partners in downtown investment.
As part of this vision, the Eugene Emeralds, a High-A Minor League Baseball team affiliated with the San Francisco Giants, have expressed interest in Medford as a potential new home. The City is exploring how an outdoor stadium could support both community events and professional-level baseball, with the Emeralds potentially anchoring that facility in the future.
No funding has been secured or committed at this time. The City is currently exploring funding opportunities through public-private partnerships, and no development agreements have been made.
What’s Next?
Creekside Quarter remains a preliminary concept. In the coming months, the City will continue discussions with prospective partners, assess development pathways, and ensure alignment with community priorities. Public engagement and transparency will remain central throughout the process.
While there is strong community interest in revitalizing downtown and expanding recreational and entertainment opportunities, no decisions have been made, and timelines are not yet established.
