Railroad Park

Located at 799 Berrydale Avenue, this 49 acre parcel once housed the City's sewer treatment plant. Seven developed acres now encompasses the round concrete settling tank , which is storage for several of the clubs which operate at the site. Today the site is home to Medford's Railroad Park!

Ride Miniature "Built To Scale" Steam Trains

2nd and 4th Sunday each month April thru October 11am - 3pm. Ride for free, or you may make a donation to the club at that time. For rentals, tours, or more information about this portion of the park please contact one of the following operating groups: the Southern Oregon Railway Historical Society; the Southern Oregon Live Steamers; the Rogue Valley Model Railroad Club; and the Medford Garden Railroaders.

Railroad Park History

In 1979 an agreement was made with the City of Medford and the S.O. Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society to begin development of this unique park. This unique attraction is operated by: the Southern Oregon Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society; the Southern Oregon Live Steamers; the Morse Telegraph Club; the Rogue Valley Model Railroad Club; and the Medford Garden Railroaders. Park attractions include: full size cars, a caboose, a hopper car, Medco's "Four Spot" Willamette Locomotive, HO Scale Track/Trains in the clubhouse, a working telegraph system to send and receive telegrams in the compound, and an operating outdoor Garden Railway.

Park Rental Information - THIS PAVILION IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR RENT AT THIS TIME. IT IS UNKOWN WHEN RENTALS WILL BE ALLOWED AGAIN.

You can reserve the Railroad Park Pavilion through the City of Medford Parks and Recreation Department. Reserving the Railroad Park Pavilion does not include access to ride the miniature steam trains. A partially covered area separated from the attractions by a chain link fence. Although there is no electricity available, a restroom is close by. You can also access the Bear Creek Greenway from here.
