Joint Message from Chief of Police, Justin Ivens and Fire Chief, Eric Thompson
Throughout the past year our departments have been working to evaluate current levels of service and identify ways we can effectively address the growing and evolving needs of our community.
Based off data from two level of service studies, our departments have created Strategic Plans. These plans will direct everyday operations in an effort to address the City’s ability to provide emergency services in an efficient and effective manner.
We will be presenting our Strategic Plans to the City Council at the Study Session on Thursday, December 8. This will serve as an opportunity for Council to provide feedback and direction on the plans.
On Thursday, December 15 we will be asking the City Council to adopt our Strategic Plans and consider approving an increase to the Public Safety Utility Fee during a public hearing.
The demand for emergency services continues to rise. A public safety fee increase would allow both of our departments to expand staffing in vital areas of need and ensure emergency response services for the community.
More information and details on this topic will be available throughout the coming weeks.
We are committed to providing the highest level of emergency service and appreciate the community’s support and investment as we work to meet increased demands.
Sincerely,
Chief Ivens & Chief Thompson
