The Medford Police Department’s Community Service Officers (CSO) are an incredible asset to the department and serve Medford citizens in a multitude of ways. There are CSO's serving in both part-time and full-time positions, and they're assigned to the Patrol Division, the Livability Team, the Report Writing Unit, the Community Engagement Division, and the Administrative Division.
CSO's are non-sworn, and their tasks may include enforcing city codes, assisting with volunteer activities, coordinating Neighborhood Watch Programs, assisting Patrol Officers, conducting traffic control, fleet maintenance, and handling calls for service.
