USE OF AQUATICS FACILITIES- Recommendations / Information
General
- Groups of over 50 people planning to attend an open swim session should consider forming smaller groups and staggering arrival times to avoid longer wait times to use amenities or secure a private rental.
- Changing rooms – the facility has a family changing room and a men’s and women’s locker room. Groups can decide on which rooms they want to utilize for the trip. Chaperones should be near during their group’s use. Please note, if using during open swim time, the public will also be using these areas.
- There are lockers available in each of the changing areas and are $3 to lock. Backpacks and other items can be brought on the pool deck.
- Participants should come to the facility ready to swim with swimsuits on under clothes, if possible.
- Participants should shower before entering the pool.
- Footwear is required in the lobby areas.
Recreational Pool
- Maximum of 260 people (including the deck).
- The pool has the following amenities:
- Lazy river
- Two water slides
- Interactive play structure
- Basketball hoop
- Open water area
- The height requirement for the use of the slides is 48”.
- Depths: zero depth entry to 6ft, 6”.
- Pool temperature is around 83 degrees.
Competition Pool
- Maximum of 125 people (including the deck).
- 13 lanes
- Depths 4’ to 7’.
- Pool temperature is around 79 degrees.
USE OF SPORTS COURTS & CLASSROOMS
Sport Courts
- Courts can be set up for basketball, volleyball, or pickleball.
- Each court can be separated by a curtain and has a scoreboard and bleachers.
- Basketballs and volleyballs can be provided (limited to adult sizes).
Classrooms
- The facility has the following rooms available.
- Classrooms 121& 123 – 44 people max, rooms can be combined for a maximum of 88 people.
- Each room has a monitor that can be used for presentations or other AV needs.
- Tables and chairs are provided.
- Classroom 125 – Dance/Exercise Room
- Monitor that can be used for presentations or other AV needs.
- Bluetooth-friendly sound system.
- Full-length mirrors.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do we need to bring? Aquatics activities– Swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, water bottle and footwear to be worn in changing areas. Sports court activities – Athletic shoes and a water bottle.
Do you have life jackets for swimmers to use? We do have life jackets available for guests.
Do you have goggles and/or food for sale? We do! We have goggles, swim caps, towels, swim diapers, and more for sale. We also have food trucks in front of the building daily and vending machines inside the facility.
Who is considered a resident? A resident is defined as any individual living in Medford, OR or paying a monthly utility bill for a residence in the city limits.
I will not be swimming; do I have to pay? Yes, all patrons on the pool deck must pay the entrance fee.
What happens if the pool has to close during a rental or open swim? In the event a fecal or vomit or an equipment failure incident occurs, the pool will be closed per the Center for Disease Control and Aquatic Health Code standards. The type of incident that occurs will determine the amount of time that is required for pool closure once the pool has been cleaned and treated properly. Many variables that factor into the contamination treatment protocol and the total closure time. Closure times can range from 45 minutes to 48 hours, depending on these variables. Staff will determine if a refund will be issued based on the situation.
Is there a place for groups to eat lunch? There are lounge areas for groups to eat lunch inside, but they cannot be reserved and are limited in size. We do have a green space available during good weather days near the splash pad.
