Hawthorne Park is located at 501 E. Main Street. The 20 acre tract was purchased in 1945 from Frank and Katherine Farrell and provides a welcome retreat to busy shoppers, families and anyone craving an open green area. The park underwent a $2 million renovation in 2015-16 and it now includes a large play structure, a skate spot, Medford's largest seasonal splash pad, a futsal court, a basketball court and two fenced-in areas for off-leash dogs. In 2015, an artist was commissioned by the Medford Arts Commission to create the mural art on the pillars under I-5 at this site.
