Update (Tuesday, February 4 2:30 PM): ODOT has closed I5 1 mile north of the California border due to weather conditions. Please use an alternate route.
Snow is picking up this afternoon and road conditions are expected to deteriorate like they did yesterday. Public Works crews have been clearing roads and addressing hazards all day, and will continue working 24/7 while the storm continues.
City facilities will close early today (2/4) at 3:00 PM and have a delayed opening tomorrow (2/5) at 10:00 AM.
Please remember:
- If you’re not comfortable driving in snow and ice, consider staying home.
- Slow down, allow extra stopping distance, and drive according to conditions.
- Steep, icy hills will be hazardous—use caution or avoid them if possible.
- Be extra cautious on bridges, overpasses, and shaded areas.
- Do not approach downed trees in power lines—they may still be energized.

Update (Tuesday, February 4): City Public Works crews worked overnight to plow streets, focusing on major roads, which are now significantly improved. Most streets are open, and fallen trees blocking roadways have been moved. However, residential streets have not yet been plowed and will be addressed today.
- Hillcrest Rd. (McAndrews to Urano – westbound/downhill) remains hazardous due to packed snow, making it difficult for drivers to maintain control.
Driving Reminders:
- If you're not confident driving on slick, snowy roads, stay home.
- Slow down and increase following/stopping distance.
- Be cautious—driving up or down a snow-covered hill is risky.
City Facility Delayed Openings: City Hall, Santo Community Center, and Rogue X will open at 10 a.m. today.
