The Medford Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department continues to invest in the City’s parks and recreational facilities, with major ongoing projects happening throughout the year.

Harry & David Field at Lithia & Driveway Fields

Local and visiting athletes now have a professional-grade playing surface following last year’s installation of Tahoma 31 Bermudagrass. Additional upgrades—including irrigation improvements, artificial turf in bullpens and practice areas, and enhanced batting cages with lighting and new netting—wrapped up in early spring.

Howard Memorial Sports Park

Construction is underway at Lithia & Driveway Pickleball Park, a 19-court facility scheduled for completion in May, along with four sand volleyball courts. A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall has been installed, with a ribbon-cutting planned for Memorial Day. A neighborhood park is also in advanced design and engineering, with construction expected to begin later this year.

Jackson Park

Renovation is underway to revitalize the park, originally constructed in the 1960s. The project’s centerpiece is a large splash pad replacing the former Jackson Aquatic Center pool areas, with completion expected by fall 2027. Additional upgrades include a new restroom building and picnic area.
