New Neighborhood Park Approved for West Medford

A new 8.27-acre neighborhood park is planned for west Medford after the City Council approved the Addysen Park Development and Donation Agreement on Feb. 18.
The park will be built between Dakota and Stewart avenues within a 487-unit subdivision. Developer Terry Buntin, doing business as Addysen Park LLC, will donate the parkland to the Medford Parks and Recreation Foundation, and later to the City, to meet open space requirements in an urbanizing area.
Initial amenities—including a playground, picnic shelter, restroom, dog park, safety lighting, and a basketball court—are scheduled for completion by June 30, 2027. The City will provide $749,999 through an escrow account to reimburse Buntin for labor and materials.
After the City accepts the park, it will purchase the property from the Foundation for 5% of the appraised land value, excluding improvements, which is estimated at $55,000. The Foundation will also contribute $33,000 toward widening Dakota Avenue to add 19 on-street parking spaces adjacent to the park.
Later phases, pending funding, may include a lighted walking path, multi-purpose grass field, splash pad, and two pickleball courts.
