As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, the City of Medford is reminding residents to celebrate responsibly and follow local fireworks regulations.Fire danger in the Medford area is currently High. While consumer fireworks are legal during the designated use period, current conditions make it especially important to follow safety precautions and dispose of fireworks properly.

Installation for the lane reconfiguration on East Main Street (approximately between Bear Creek and Oakdale Avenue) is expected to begin on Thursday, October 12. While construction is scheduled to take place during the night, it may cause some traffic delays during the day. The installation is expected to take a few weeks to complete, depending on the weather.
Main Street currently has parking on both sides, three travel lanes and no bicycle facilities. When the project is complete, East Main Street will have parking on both sides, two travel lanes and a new two-way bike lane.
The impact from this project is expected to slow and calm traffic, reduce vehicular noise, and change the downtown experience for people traveling along East Main Street. Drivers may experience a minimal increase in travel time.
This facility aims to improve biking access along East Main Street while continuing to provide access and flow for motor vehicles.
