This project is a great example of how Medford’s urban renewal district works to revitalize downtown. MURA’s programs help transform underutilized spaces into thriving hubs for local businesses and community events, preserving the city’s history while creating opportunities for economic growth. As part of the loan agreement, $50,000 will be forgiven if the building hosts at least four free community events annually over the next five years. The Copper Plank will fully open in the restored space soon. Fusion Dance will also be moving in, creating even more opportunities for community engagement. The revitalization of the Elks Lodge is a step toward the downtown many in our community want to see—a place where history and progress come together, local businesses thrive, and residents gather to create new memories.
