City Council Approves General Fund Grants for Nonprofit Agencies

City Council recently approved funding allocations from the City's General Fund Grant (GFG) program. The funding award is $265,300 and will be divided between 11 nonprofit agencies that submitted applications. 

The following is a list of organizations and programs and the amount they'll be receiving from the GFG:

• The Salvation Army: The Salvation Army Safety Net Services - $25,500
• Rogue Valley Council of Government: Food & Friends Meals on Wheels & Senior Meals Program - $24,000
• St. Vincent de Paul: Rent Assistance - $40,000
• United Way: Hope Chest - $28,000
• ACCESS: Food Pantry Network - $45,000
• Community Works: Dunn House Shelter - $28,000
• Set Free Services: Providing Basic Needs - $9,750
• Consumer Credit Counseling Services: Free Community Credit Counseling - $5,100
• La Clinica: Medford Health Outreach Services - $15,000
• Youth 71Five: VoTech Case Management 2023-2025 - $24,876.50
• Rogue Retreat: Emergency Services Support - $20,073.50
  
  

These funding allocations meet City Council's health and safety goal of collaborating with regional partners to serve the community and improve service delivery. 

Background: The GFG program has been funded since the 1996/1997 fiscal year and has provided over $6 million to support agencies and organizations that care for the needs of Medford residents with services the City either cannot, or does not, provide due to lack of facilities, staffing, funding or other limitations.
