John Quinn

Ward 2 Councilor

John Quinn was elected to office in 2024 and began serving as Ward 2 Councilor in January 2025. 

John and his wife moved to Medford in 2001 and intend to retire here.  He prioritizes public safety and fiscal responsibility.  He supports our local law enforcement and their efforts to improve safety along the Greenway and in our parks.  He also supports initiatives that ensure reliable City services, protect the environment and minimize the impact on taxpayers. 

Since graduating from UCLA, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Latin, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, with a Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, John has been practicing law for over 30 years, 25 of which have been spent as a Deputy District Attorney, Chief Deputy District Attorney, and now Assistant District Attorney for Siskiyou County.  He previously worked in private practice; as an adjunct professor of law at the University of California, Hastings College of Law; as a law clerk/research attorney for the US District Court for the Northern District of California, the California Supreme Court, and the Tenth Circuit US Court of Appeals; as a mediator for the California Court of Appeals; and as a Judge Pro Tempore in the San Francisco Superior Court, Limited Jurisdiction.
