Overlays are cost-effective for restoring structural integrity to an otherwise sound street section and the timely repair of streets decreases long-term maintenance costs by postponing more costly reconstruction projects and produces a smoother ride for the traveling public.
The City’s Pavement Management Analysis Report was used to determine which pavement sections are best suited to receive these asphalt overlays. The existing pavement condition has been analyzed, and it has been determined that this maintenance option will extend pavement life and produce a smoother and safer ride for the traveling public at the lowest life-cycle cost.
Overlaying projects are scheduled to start in July 2025. Please note: Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always slow down within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes.
