Accounting and Financial Reporting

Each year, the Finance Department drafts the City's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The ACFR is audited in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards by an independent accounting firm licensed to perform municipal audits in the State of Oregon. The ACFR is filed with several agencies, including the Secretary of State for the State of Oregon, at the conclusion of the annual audit. 

Additionally, the department produces annual financial statements for the Medford Urban Renewal Agency (MURA).  The MURA financial statements are audited by the City's independent auditor and filed with the Secretary of State, in accordance with ORS. All MURA financial data is also included in the City's ACFR as a component unit of the City.
