Road Closures in Effect as Crews Work Fire Scene

Update (4/13; 10AM): 

Tuesday night the Medford Fire Department (MFD) responded to a reported fire at 936 South Central (Carson - Pacific Pride). As of Wednesday morning the fire is out and crews are addressing hot spots.

The fast moving fuel-fire damaged several business buildings, some are destroyed. Due to the complexity of the fire which caused safety and environmental risks, there will be a continued road closure on South Central Avenue from E 13th St. to E Barnett Rd.  

Medford Public Works crews have opened North Riverside at Barnett Avenue. All left turns between Barnett and 12th Street along this portion of North Riverside are prohibited and drivers are asked to use extreme caution when in the area as there are multiple crews on site continuing the investigation. Carson (Pacific Pride), a fuel station and the location of this fire, has contracted with First Strike Environmental to do an initial assessment of the scene and will lead the clean-up of hazardous materials.

Medford Police Department is leading the investigation into the cause of the fire in coordination with MFD. MPD is asking anyone who may have seen something in the area of the fire to contact them at 541-770-4783, case 22-6203.


Tuesday night the Medford Fire Department responded to a reported fire at 936 South Central (Pacific Pride). The fire quickly advanced to a third alarm.

The fuel-fire generated a substantial amount of heat, and the fire moved quickly in a northern direction and destroyed four or more buildings that included several businesses. Due to this complexity of this event the clean-up may take days.

As this is an active fire scene that possess potential safety and environmental risks, local businesses and traffic flow will be impacted. If you're travelling in the area please be aware of the following road closures:

  • South Riverside from East Barnett Road to Earhart St.
  • South Central Avenue from East 13th Street to East Barnett Rd.

Detour signs are up along East 10th St to divert traffic.
