New safety measures have been implemented at City Hall to ensure a more secure environment for both the public and staff.
Effective today, April 21, the south entrance, located closest to South Ivy Street, will be the designated public entrance. The remaining entrances will be reserved for staff only.
Security personnel will be present during business hours and after-hours meetings, including City Council and Planning Commission. City Hall visitors will be required to pass through a metal detector upon arrival.
To help maintain security, visitors are asked not to bring in oversized items, such as large bags or backpacks. Security may request that these items be left outside.
Signs have been placed outside all City Hall entrances to direct the public regarding the change. Visitors should look for the sign marked “Entrance A.”
