The Water Reclamation Division (WRD) recently received a $63,911 incentive from the Energy Trust of Oregon for participating in the Strategic Energy Management (SEM) program.
Through SEM, the WRD identified and completed more than 40 energy-saving projects, reducing electricity consumption by 13.5% and saving over $27,200 annually. The team will continue its energy-saving efforts this year, focusing on reducing natural gas use.
The WRD serves over 160,000 people throughout the Rogue Valley, providing high-quality wastewater services to Medford, Central Point, Eagle Point, White City, Talent, Phoenix, and Jacksonville.
This achievement highlights the City’s ongoing commitment to efficiency and environmental stewardship.
