A large mural on the north wall of Rogue Gallery is now complete. Longtime local artist Ryan Moon finished the piece last week. The proposal for the mural was approved by the Landmarks and Historic Preservation Commission on March 4, and work will begin in late March or early April.

March 3, 2025 Article:

A new 900-square-foot mural boasting maroon tones and large pink flowers could be coming to downtown Medford.

The City of Medford’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Facilities, partnering with the Rogue Valley Art Association, aims to install the public mural on the entire north wall of Rogue Gallery, located at 40 S. Bartlett Street.

Ryan Moon, a local artist with outdoor mural experience, will prime the wall, use durable, professional-grade paint and water sealer, and coat the final work with an anti-graffiti coating.

After installation, the City of Medford will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the mural for the life of an agreement made with the property owner.

Although the location was not evaluated or given historic significance during the Downtown Commercial Area Survey of Historic and Cultural Resources, it is located within the Historic Downtown District, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Landmarks and Historic Preservation Commission will review the proposal during a Tuesday, March 4 meeting at 5:30 PM in Council Chambers at Medford City Hall.
