Renovations are underway at Jackson Park in west Medford, one of the City’s oldest public parks, established in the 1960s.

Last week, crews began demolishing the former Jackson Aquatic Center pool tanks to make way for a new interactive splash pad. The existing pool building will be preserved and refurbished as a utility and storage facility for park maintenance operations. A new restroom building is also planned, with completion expected by fall 2027.

The project is supported by more than $2.3 million in funding, including a $780,593 grant from the State of Oregon’s Local Government Grant Program, $464,498 in Community Development Block Grant funds, and City Park Improvement Fund dollars.

The park has seen additional upgrades in recent years, including improvements to Fagone Field, a 4.5-acre youth softball and baseball facility.

Located adjacent to Jackson Elementary School at 815 Summit Ave., the 10.5-acre park serves approximately 1,000 households and 2,500 residents within a half-mile radius.
