Due to high temperatures forecasted, Medford City Manager Brian Sjothun has issued a severe weather event declaration effective for Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29.
The City of Medford is partnering with ACCESS, American Red Cross, the Jackson County Library and First Presbyterian Church to open and operate a cooling shelter throughout the next week.
The cooling shelter will be open each day next week from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please note, the shelter location changes throughout the week:
The cooling shelter will provide water, restrooms, popsicles, snacks, and cooling area and water for pets. Individuals may come and go.
The City has set up text notifications for citizens who would like to be notified when warming or cooling shelters are opened. Text MED4SHELTERS to 888777 to receive the latest on severe weather event shelters in Medford.
