Hundreds of vehicles of all kinds will roll through the city this weekend for the 40th annual Medford Cruise, a longtime tradition that draws car enthusiasts from across the region.
The free event kicks off on Saturday, June 14, with the Show ‘N Shines car show at Fichtner-Mainwaring Park from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Later that evening, engines will rev up for the cruise, which runs from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. through downtown Medford.
Traffic restrictions will be in place, with partial road closures likely throughout the day and full closures during the cruise. The following streets are expected to be fully impacted from approximately 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.:
- Central Avenue (from Jackson Street to West Main Street)
- 2nd Street (between Front Street and Central Avenue)
- 6th Street (from Ivy Street to Central Avenue)
- West Main Street (from Central Avenue to Ivy Street)
- Front Street (from Jackson Street to West Main Street)
No parking will be allowed along the route on Saturday from noon to 10:00 p.m. Vehicles left on the route during this time will be towed to the nearest open side street. Drivers can call the Medford Police Department to find out where their vehicle was relocated.
This year’s judging will spotlight three featured vehicles from five categories: Chevy/GM, Ford, MOPAR, ’80 & Newer, and All Other. Judges will also award a Best in Show title and several additional trophies.
Launched in 1985, the Medford Cruise was created to bring car enthusiasts together while raising money for local youth organizations. Over the past 39 years, the event has contributed more than $600,000 to programs in the area.
