Mobile Food Unit / Sidewalk Vendor on City Approved Sites

 

What you need to know!

  • Sidewalk Vendor carts are permitted on six designated sidewalk locations 
  • Sidewalk Vendors must submit an application packet to the Business License Department for review
  • Hours of operation: 7:00am to 10:00pm.  On Saturdays and Sundays vending is permitted from 7:00am to 2:30am
  • The maximum cart size is 4 feet wide, 9 feet long, and 4 feet high and must be self-contained, and be designed to be movable by one person.  MMC 6.350

Step 1.City Designated Sites

  1.  Corner of 8th & Central
  2.  10th & Central
  3.  8th * Oakdale - Mayor's Fountain
  4.  411 W. 8th Street - City Hall
  5.  9th & Central - North corner

Step 2.Fees 

  • Annual Business License fee 
  • Annual Infrastructure Impact fee $100
  • Quarterly fee of $300 

Step 3.How to Apply

What you will need for review:

  • Sidewalk Vendor - City Approved Site application 
  • Medford Fire Department business information & check list (2 pages)
  • Current drawing of your cart (include dimensions)
  • Site plan: drawing showing where your cart will be placed at the designated site (Cart shall be located outside of the public right-of-way)
  • Current copy of your Jackson County Environmental Public Health certificate
  • Submit your application packet:
    1. By email:  businesslicenses@cityofmedford.org
    2. In person:  200 S. Ivy Street, Lausmann Annex, Second Floor

Step 4.Approval and Payment

  • The application review takes approximately 3-7 business days 
  • Once the review is done, the Business License Department will contact you by email for any fees due
  • Payments can be made online (link will be provided) or in person
  • Once paid we can issue your license by email (PDF) or it can be mailed out via USPS with 7-10 business days
