Through a vote of the City Council, Eric Stark was appointed to the City Council on February 7, 2019 to fill a Ward 4 vacancy. He was then elected to his position in 2020, and began a new term in January 2021.
Mr. Stark was raised in Medford, graduating from Medford High School. He left the area to attend University of Oregon for college and law school and returned to Medford to work as an attorney at Stark & Hammack, PC.
When asked why he wished to serve on the City Council, he responded “Having grown up in Medford, I have experienced firsthand the economic, social and educational changes in Medford and Southern Oregon. I would like Medford to continue to grow and develop in a well thought out and planned manner. Since coming back to live in Medford, I have always planned to be a part of and assist in ways that I can, in making Medford a top rate City to live, work, raise a family, and/or retire.”
Over the years, Mr. Stark has served on multiple City and community Boards, including: Medford Planning Commission, Medford Urban Renewal Agency Board, Southern Oregon Tennis Club Board of Directors, Jackson County Bar Association, Red Cross Board of Directors, Providence Hospital Medford Board of Directors, YMCA Board of Directors and Providence Oregon System Board of Directors.
