Parks, Recreation and Facilities

The City of Medford is developing its Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan (formerly known as the Leisure Services Plan) to shape the next 10 years of citywide park and recreation services. The Plan will address systemwide needs, identify specific improvements to park and recreation facilities and activities, and outline goals and policies to provide guidance on future investments, projects, and programs based on community priorities and needs.

The Medford Parks and Recreation Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), was established in 2005. The Foundation raises funds, fosters partnerships, and advocates in support of specific projects and activities that benefit our City parks and recreation programs.

The Foundation is funded primarily through support by individuals, groups and businesses who are committed to the preservation and expansion of youth and adult programs as well as the City park and trail system.

A Special Event consists of private events, sporting events, public events, and fairs & festivals. They are considered ‘special’ events because they are outside of the host’s normal business, program, or activity.

Special events are generally hospitality or entertainment-based, and are therefore of a social, rather than business or fundraising, nature.

Apply for a Permit

Upon occasion, Medford Parks and Recreation staff or contractors may photograph participants in recreation programs and events, or people on or within Parks-managed properties. Photos may be used for illustrative and promotional purposes.
