Need a Noise Variance?

All night construction work including alteration, demolition, erection or repair of any structure taking place in the City between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. is prohibited.  Permission for a noise variance from this ordinance can be granted by the City Manager or designee if it is determined that the public interest requires it or that no person in the area would be disturbed by the night work.  

An approved variance does not replace any fees/permits/traffic control plans which may be required by Public Works Engineering.  For additional information, please call (541) 774-2100.

Step 1.Decide where the night work will take place.

Step 2.Complete and submit the appropriate noise variance request form.

Step 3.Allow 7-10 business days for processing.

City Staff will contact you with the status of your request within 7-10 business days.

For night work taking place on private property, please submit your variance request to the City Manager's Office by emailing citymanager@cityofmedford.org.  

For night work taking place in the public right-of-way, please submit your variance request to Public Works Engineering by emailing tcp@cityofmedford.org.  

Step 4.Allow 7-10 business days for processing.

City Staff will contact you with the status of your request within 7-10 business days.
